With just two days remaining until the deadline midnight on Saturday, December 14th here are some helpful tips and insights we've gathered from years of experience running the Digital Education Awards. These suggestions will serve as a valuable guide to help you complete your application and maximize its chances of success.
1. Show Your Passion
It's easy to craft an academic write-up about the service or product you're involved with, but some applicants struggle to convey their passion for digital education. Our judges love reviewing applications that highlight the enthusiasm and dedication driving the project. Sharing your passion may feel a bit vulnerable, but it helps us connect with the heart of your application and understand the inspiration behind it.
2. Support Your Claims with Data
As you outline your achievements and successes, remember to include demonstrable data to back them up. While all applications are evaluated equally, those supported by measurable evidence often stand out to our judges. Concrete data solidifies your claims and helps to establish the impact of your work.
3. Be Honest
We all know the sting of a launch or project not going as planned. When completing your application, don't shy away from discussing challenges or setbacks. Highlight how these experiences provided valuable lessons and contributed to your eventual growth and success. Being authentic about your journey adds depth to your application and
shows resilience.
4. Don’t Worry If Your Product or Service Is New
If your product or service is in its late development stages or has only recently launched, that's okay! If you lack extensive data or results, focus on how your product or service addresses a specific learning objective. Detail the key features that set it apart and, where possible, emphasize how it differs from competitors.
5. Seek Feedback
As you work on your application, make it a point to review it thoroughly and often. It's easy to overlook critical details, so we recommend asking a friend or colleague to give it a fresh pair of eyes. If you need additional assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to Sean at sean@digitaleducationawards.com for support.
With these tips in mind, you’re well-equipped to craft a compelling application that highlights your passion, backs up your claims with data, and showcases your journey—setbacks and all. Whether your product or service is well-established or just starting out, remember to focus on its unique strengths and objectives. Don’t forget to seek feedback, and if you need additional guidance, we’re here to help. Best of luck with your application we can’t wait to see your innovative contributions to digital education!
